Overseas Students

General English for Overseas Visitors (only for Groups)

International Students

The General English program is for learners who have a good grounding in grammar with some literacy skills and want to enhance their speaking and listening skills.

Classes:
  • Pre-test and Post-test to show progress
  • Pronunciation, Phonetic Symbols, Stresses, Intonation & Rhythm
  • Advanced Conversation skills
  • Listening skills
  • Idioms, slang and cultural expressions
Time:
9.00 am - 3.00 pm (1/2 hour lunch break)
5 1/2 hours per day
Days:
Monday to Friday
Duration:
5 weeks study (recommended) + 1 BBQ + 1 Graduation ceremony

Holiday English (only for Groups)

This is designed for overseas visitors who want to learn English while holidaying in Australia. Excursions coupled with leisure courses provide excellent opportunities for visitors to experience the country in depth.

Level 1,2,3:
Emphasis on Speaking, Listening and Pronunciation
3 Days:
9.00 am - 3.00 pm
+ Excursions + College holiday programs
eg netball/tennis/golf clinics, card craft, etc
2 Days:
9.00 am - 3.00 pm
Excursion:
2 Day Excursion (Available only for groups of 10)
Program:
Excursions and visits to various places of interest in and around Sydney, sightseeing, museums, bush walks, national parks, theme parks, etc.
Example:
  • Darling Harbour - Sydney’s harbour, shopping, museums, aquarium
  • The Rocks - historical site where the first fleet landed, craft shops, restaurants
  • Maritime Museum / NSW Art Gallery
  • Australia’s Wonderland - theme park with amusement park and a native animal park
  • Belgenny Farm - birthplace of Australia’s agriculture - sheep shearing, dog working, drover’s camp, steam engine rides and historical tours of farms, crafts and food
  • Featherdale Wildlife Park - outdoor zoo of native Australian animals and birds
  • Taronga Zoo - harbour views, world class enclosures
  • National Park - bush walking
1 day excursion + 1 day sports clinic - netball, tennis, golf, other leisure activities in the college program i.e. card making, candle-wax making, etc.

Fee will depend on choice of clinic or leisure program.

SGSCC College Certificate in Australian English Speaking, Listening & Pronunciation Level 1/2/3 (for 5 weeks)

Certificate in Spoken & Written English Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing Competency-based program (for 10 weeks or more).

IELTS (Preparation)

This program is for learners who are preparing for the IELTS test. Preparation for IELTS includes all 4 macro skills i.e. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking (either General Training or Academic Modules) with sample tests.

A diagnostic pre-test to identify learner’s weaknesses is given followed by a planned strategy for each individual student to prepare for the IELTS test.
